Educational Sites

Here are some other educational sites that your child may benefit from at home:

Spelling City

www.spellingcity.com can be used to help students practice their Spelling words during the week.

I have the lists already saved on the site. Below are the directions for accessing the lists.

1. Click the link above.

2. Click on "Find A List."

3. Use the Advanced Search to search by teacher name. Type "Hobby" in the box. Click the red search button.

4. Click Bonny Hobby. It should be the first name on the list.

5. This week our story is called Sam and the Bag. Click Sam and the Bag and the list will come up. I added a few extra words from the story in the list as well, so this is why the list will look longer on the site than on the homework sheet. The students will not have the extra words on the test. They are just for extra practice.

Oceans and Continents Game

Dear Parents,

We are learning about the oceans and continents in Social Studies. I found a great game that the students can play online that helps teach them the locations and names of the oceans and continents. I have the website listed below. I hope this helps! :)

Thanks,

Bonny D. Hobby

Weekly Spelling Pre-Test

DEAR PARENTS,

WE WILL NOW BE TAKING A SPELLING PRE-TEST ON WEDNESDAYS THAT WILL BE SENT HOME SO YOU CAN REVIEW ANY WORDS YOUR CHILD MISSED. PLEASE BE AWARE YOUR CHILD SHOULD HAVE A GRADED PRE-TEST ON THE “KEEP AT HOME” SIDE OF HIS/HER FOLDER EVERY WEDNESDAY. IF YOUR CHILD MAKES A 100 ON THE PRE-TEST, HE/SHE WILL BE EXEMPT FROM THE FINAL SPELLING TEST ON FRIDAY. THIS IS THE SAME FORMAT WE FOLLOW FOR MATH AS WELL. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND COOPERATION!

SINCERELY,

BONNY D. HOBBY
